BTS with Shie

I have so many favorite parts of the picture-taking process, that it would be hard to nail down my top, but one thing that’s up there on the list is getting to see the behind the scenes action. It’s fun to see side by side images of the shot being taken and the image that was produced. I thought you might enjoy taking a look at some of them too.

Brad and I had so much fun getting pictures in downtown Wichita with Shie, the professional hair and makeup artist we’ll be partnering with this year for senior sessions. Here is a behind the scenes peek at what her shoot looked like. To see more of our top favorites, check it out here.

The top of the parking garage made for some interesting pictures (and interesting people, but we won't go there). 

Since I was taking a picture of Brad taking a picture of Shie, she decided to complete the trifecta. Ha! Love this sequence. 

Brad and I actually did the Hobby Lobby challenge before this (baby in the stroller and all) and thought we could get a similar effect with these nice shrubs along the street in Oldtown. 

By this point in the shoot we were no longer even posing Shie. She was totally channeling her America's Next Top Model. *Side note: These pictures were right as it was starting to get busy in Oldtown Friday night. We got more than one interesting glance. Lol. 

Here's Jameson crashing a behind the scenes picture. I also wanted everyone to see that Brad is part monkey (his toes would be exhibit B). I'm really just thankful he didn't hurt himself or the camera. You'll notice that the huge softbox is missing from the light in this picture. Brad was playing around with some hard lighting for a different effect. Personally, we prefer the soft light. What do you think? 

Shie and I noticed these yellow pots at the same time. LOVE it! Notice the reflector slid up under her for this picture? It's bouncing some light back up into her face from the softbox above her. It creates the beautiful, even lighting that you see in this picture.
